About Me

My name is Luis Alexander Chacon Nieves, and I am a U.S. Navy veteran who served honorably as an Engineman from 2019 to 2022. During my time in the military, I developed a strong sense of discipline, adaptability, and technical problem-solving skills that I now carry into my civilian life. I am currently pursuing my Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, with an estimated graduation date of November 2025, and I previously earned an Associate’s Degree in Information Technology in April 2023. My career goal is to work in Blue Team cybersecurity roles, such as a SOC Analyst or Cybersecurity Engineer, where I can contribute to defending digital infrastructure and preventing cyber threats. I was born and raised in Puerto Rico, and I bring with me a deep commitment to learning and growth. I value knowledge over salary and am always looking for opportunities to expand my skills — whether through formal education, self-study, or hands-on experience. While I am not currently employed in the field, I am actively preparing by pursuing certifications like CompTIA Security+ and staying current with cybersecurity trends and tools. I am passionate about protecting systems, learning how to detect threats, and one day advancing into a senior-level security position.

Luis A. Chacon Nieves
